HOW TO WRITE A BETTER ELEARNING PROJECT BRIEF

A useful course brief gives vendors enough to make sound design decisions without inventing your requirements.

Define the performance outcome

Describe a behavior that employees should demonstrate at work. “Understand the policy” is too vague; “choose the correct escalation path” is actionable.

Describe your learners

List roles, regions, devices, prior knowledge, accessibility needs and any high-risk learner groups.

Inventory source material

Identify document owners, dates, media rights, missing context and who can answer questions.

Clarify the delivery environment

Provide LMS name, expected package format, completion settings, browser requirements and sandbox availability.

Agree the review authority

Name a final decision maker and consolidate feedback. Explain how new requirements will be assessed.

BUILD WITH MORE CLARITY.

Share what you have. Define what learners need. Start with a scoped conversation.
